Lasantha De Silva is a rare human being—one I have had the privilege of truly knowing, along with his two sons. In every stage of his life that I have witnessed, he appears as a devoted father, a natural educator, and a powerful source of motivation for those around him. He is not an influencer by title, but by the way he lives.

He is a man firmly rooted in the earth, living by his own feet—

“මහ පොලවට ණය නැති විප්ලවාදියෙක්.”

A revolutionary in spirit, grounded, honest, and deeply humane.

I have learned countless lessons from him—about life, values, and responsibility. To me, he represents a social university, a living classroom that teaches far beyond formal education. My first real understanding of society, humanity, and cultural consciousness on this earth was shaped through him.

Figures such as Pavel, Gorky, and Aravind were names I encountered only in books. But the living reflection of their ideals—their human compassion, social consciousness, and moral courage—I saw in Lasantha De Silva himself. Through him, those written philosophies became real and visible.

This place for me allows one to experience knowledge as something intimately emergent from the worldly relationships that inform our daily human lives.

​I honestly didn’t expect much when I first came to the Ninolades Centre—maybe just to attend some classes and leave. But meeting Mr. Lasantha De Silva changed my whole perspective. He isn’t just a teacher who reads from a book; he’s a mentor who treats everyone with so much kindness.

​There were times I felt stuck, and his approach wasn’t just “study harder,” it was understanding me as a person. That human touch is so rare these days. He doesn’t look down on students; he lifts them up. He is a very special lecturer, and he made me feel seen.

This family is suitable only for Noble Price. This kind of talents cannot be found anywhere in the world. This wisdom should utilise by the current government for the betterment of the country if they are truthfully want to fulfill the election manifesto which promises beautiful country with rich people (mindful + empathy). Mr President Anura Kumara Dissanayake and Prime Minister Ms Harini Amarasuriya should have the initiative to implement what this family contribute towards our society before this family’s hidden gem of intellectualism rob by foreign country. As an Australian citizen I wish our leaders have the courage wisdom and blessings to protect this kind of invaluable assets to enlighten our families communities and country as well as whole planet earth and the planet of astronomy 🪐 🔭 as well.
