Hi, I'm Lasantha

Philosophical social researcher, author, and dad of two extraordinary sons

For over 30 years, I’ve been diving deep into human behavior—especially how teenagers and young adults grow, think, and interact with the world around them. My work blends research, writing, and motivational outreach, all driven by one simple goal: helping people live with more courage and peace of mind.

My Journey:
From Academia to Real Life

I earned my Bachelor of Arts from the University of Colombo and later completed my Master’s in Sociology at the University of Kelaniya. My academic path gave me the tools to explore teenage and youth behavior, cultural dynamics, and emotional development. But the real lessons came from life itself—especially raising two incredible sons on my own.
As a single parent, I faced plenty of tough moments. But those challenges became my fuel. I turned them into books, research projects, and motivational programs that now reach students and people from different communities. My work is all about blending knowledge with practicality—because understanding people isn’t just about data, it’s about understanding.
I’m based here in Sri Lanka, but my passion for understanding people and creating change has no borders. Whether I’m leading a workshop, writing a book, or collaborating with others, I bring heart and dedication to everything I do.

What I Do

I’ve worn a few hats over the years—teacher, advisor, youth researcher, and motivator. Since 2002, I’ve been guiding young minds and exploring the social patterns that shape our communities. I also run private research and motivational programs that mix philosophy, sociology, astronomy, and music to spark emotional well-being.

Key Research Projects

My research focuses on understanding the human experience and creating pathways for positive change:

My Philosophy

My Work & Achievements

I’ve published 36 books so far, each one designed to bridge the gap between research and real-world application:

5 research-based books

"Thoughts of Success" series

20 volumes on applied psychology

10 children's storybooks

Educational student learning guide

Beyond books, I’ve written over two thousand applied psychological thoughts and led motivational programs across schools and companies throughout Sri Lanka.

My Proudest Achievement

But my greatest accomplishment? Raising two brilliant sons who are already making waves in education, astronomy, and music:

Nikolai de Silva

Completed IGCSEs at 12, GCE A/Ls at 14, and is now an astronomy popularizer who has published 3 books

Nolasko de Silva

Sat for IGCSEs at 10, finished GCE A/Ls at 12 (becoming the youngest to sit for the exam), and is both a talented musician and author

My Philosophy

I believe real change starts with understanding—and that every person has the power to grow, heal, and lead. Whether I’m writing a book or mentoring a student, I aim to create space for reflection, courage, and willpower.

Life isn't just about success—it's about meaning. And I'm here to help others find theirs.
